After my previous grumpy heat related post. I thought I would share some positively by doing and she stumbled down a rabid hole‘s list, 50 favourite thing in my life.
Every summer same old story. I open my wardrobe to find jumpers, long sleeved blouses and cute OTK socks. Once again I have forgotten to plan for summer. I look around the shops trying to find something nice, but it usually consists of bright colours and loud prints.
How does everyone else cope? I read other people’s blogs or youtube channels about how to dress for summer and they have somehow managed to pick up some Victorian inspired lace beauty or light flowing dresses with interesting Gothic prints.
Well I am going shopping this weekend to try and find some cheap summery outfits. Maybe something like this light and airy parachute dress by All Saints.
I would love to hear how you are all coping and what are your tips and tricks to staying cool.

The stressful move is finally over! The house is coming together wonderfully. All I need now is a bookcase.
I am becoming a bit of homely person and have really enjoyed sourcing furniture and decorating these last couple of months.
Here are a few pictures:
My lovely high ceilings and beautiful metal frame work:
The Sitting rooms gone bright purple and yellow!
My little happy vegetable bunting I found in a free house clearance, how could I say no to their cute faces!
I have also turned my hands to growing plants, which I am really enjoying and hoping to have quite a lively indoor garden.
So expect to see more of me soon!

I got a dress using the sales app Depop. It’s a bit like eBay, but much better as you don’t have to scour through all the Chinese sellers. It is especially for people selling their second hand clothes. I picked this dress up for only £7, the only flaws being that it has crease marks from being on a hanger, which I am sure will come out with a good iron. Apart from that it looks like new. I would definitely would recommend the app for anyone who wants to bag a bargain, and doesn’t mind second hand.
As the dress looked pretty much new I thought I would go ahead and give a review of this Disturbia dress.
Disturbia Pentagram/ Wednesday Addams Dress Review
I got this dress because I love the whole Wednesday Addams look. So when I saw this dress so cheap I jumped at the chance. I wasn’t keen on the pentagram as I try to stay away from any kind of symbolism/religious themes on my clothes, but I thought I am probably going to wear a cardigan with this anyway, so I didn’t mind.
- The collar is lovely, thick and crisp. It falls very nicely and well made.
- The fabric is stretchy and gives a flattering fit because of this it is true to size.
- The printed design is thick and doesn’t look like it will crack and crease.
- The original price of this dress.
- It is very, very short! But I am 5ft 8
- The zip on the collar is quite bulky. As it pulls up all the way to the neck, it can be a little uncomfortable as you are always aware of it rubbing slightly.
In conclusion I am very happy with this dress…for the price. I looked up the original price of this dress and it is £40! I really don’t think it is worth that price. For that price I would expect something extra to make this dress worth it. For example: My Banned Apparel Moonlight Silence Keyhole Dress was £30.
These dresses are very similar, the fabric and cut is the same, however this was £10 cheaper but I think the added details like the embroidery, unique artwork and the keyhole cut makes the dress more worth the price tag.
All in all though I am very happy. So watch out for a OOTD post using this dress soon!

It is my 8 year anniversary with my fiancee! 😀 As a treat he gave me a lovely gift of these shoes that I have been eyeing up, the Iron Fist Daytime Sleeper Creepers. My boyfriend actually managed to get these in the sale at only £35.99 rather than the original price of £52.99. Also if you sign up to their newsletter you get an extra 15% off. Which pretty much pays off the delivery fee and cheeky VAT that they add at the checkout.
Iron Fist Daytime Sleeper Creeper Review
This box was covered in gray plastic, but my boyfriend removed that and wrapped in wrapping paper. IronFist has very pretty packaging and its all nicely wrapped with branded tissue paper. There is also scrunched up cardboard paper inside the shoes to keep their structure.
Gorgeous shoes! I don’t mind paying a bit extra when you get shoes that have pushed the design and you get something unique and interesting. Added details on these shoes are the brogue design looks like bats. There are attached bat wings and the sole is coffin shaped.
- A unique shoe, I have never seen anyone with these before.
- Very sturdy although not too heavy as they use a thick foam for the sole.
- Vegan ‘Leather’
- Bat wings are removable and I could wear them on other shoes.
- They are a lot higher (1 1/2 inches ish) than normal creepers, so I will have to get a hang of walking in them.
- The shoes needs a bit breaking in, especially the back as it rubs a little.
- I did have a fault with the shoe…..
The problem with my shoes was that I found a small nick on the underside of one of the bat wing.
My fiancee emailed the company and they responded straight away. They apologised profusely and said they would send me a new pair, no extra charge. Unfortunately there wasn’t a new pair in stock in my size. So, I could either send them back and get a full refund or get 20% refunded if I decided to keep them. I decided to keep them as the damage is really minimal, you couldn’t see it when worn and I still loved the shoes.
Although, there was problems with the shoe and it was disappointing. I cannot fault the staff for trying to fix the problem.
In conclusion I LOVE these shoes and cant wait till I feel confident enough in my walking abilities to wear them without falling over! I am currently wearing them around the house!

Just to say sorry guys no Style Me Thursdays this week and maybe next week and even the week after that.
Last week my partner and I was told that my landlord is selling up and we need to find somewhere else and quickly. All very stressful and hectic, don’t even get me started on how awful estate agents and renting is here in the UK.
Wish me luck. I feel like I need positive vibes.

Yay! The sun is out, spring is here and that means the boot fairs are starting again! I love car boot fairs. You can grab some amazing bargains.
I didn’t find much at the boot fair, but I did find this cute velvety bag for only 30p!
Blouse: £4 H&M
Jumper: £4 H&M
Skirt: £35 Spindoctor
This look was influenced by the ‘style me’ challenges I have been doing every week. The hair is from my Nu-Goth look. The skirt is very old and is starting to show its age, it was resigned to the ‘old clothes that I love but cant face chucking away’ draw. However, since doing my steampunk style me challenge I fell in love with high waisted layered skirts again. So this Spindoctor skirt has come out from hiding. It has been given a bit of love; deep washed, de-bobbled and ribbon tatty ends trimmed, it still looks aged but is much more wearable.
I really want more of these type of skirts so if anyone knows of any brands, cheap shops, ebay auctions etc then please let me know.

It is time for the Style me Thursday challenge and today I am looking at Country Lolita. I thought this would be perfect for Easter and Spring.
So you need to get a job but what are you going to wear for interview? Should I wear my hair in a teased back comb mess? Should I wear alternative clothes or buy a disgusting suit from Primark? These are questions that I was recently faced with whilst I was job hunting. I am sure these are also questions that you too have faced.
It is a hard choice you don’t want to hide your personality, but you cant sit around brooding in your amazing clothes forever either. Unless you get an ‘alternative’ job or one that is open to different styles, then your going to have to bite the bullet and style yourself down.
What did I decide to do?
I do believe that you should dress smarter and more ‘normal’ when going for an interview. But wait! Don’t grab that hideous suit just yet. I think you should just tone down your style, so there is still a bit of your personality shining through.
Blouse: £10 Dorthy Perkins
Skirt: £7 Cult
Black Patient Shoes: £10 Primark
I already owned these clothes. I didn’t have to go and buy any ugly items I would never wear again. When these items are paired together they look very smart as well as showing some of my own style with the frilly collar and bow. So it is worth looking through the wardrobe you might have a blouse, skirt or trousers that would work well.
My hair was the hardest part. I love having my big backcombed hair, but first impression are important and it does look a bit of a mess. Instead I had my hair down with a bit of volume in and a cute bow to the side.
And…..I got the job! I should soon be starting my new job as a museum assistant. Working in a museum is something I have always been interested in and love all the behind the scene collections. We also have a large collection of bones/fossils and a few taxidermy items…..AWESOME!

This Thursday’s ‘Style Me’ challenge focuses on the Japanese fashion Guro. This post does feature a little fake blood and syringes so if you are of a VERY weak disposition probably best to look away.
